Hi Guys 🙂
I am so excited to share with you guys what God has shown me through bootcamp, and the people at bootcamp. It is hard to put into words all that happened while at bootcamp in Gainesville Georgia. What I can tell you is that God showed up!
I was so nervous to go to bootcamp. I was scared I wouldn’t make friends. I was scared that I wouldn’t feel excited about going on gap-year after the week was over. I was scared that I would miss out on things at home that week.I was scared to fly by myself for the first time. I was nervous about a lot of things! The enemy told me a lot of lies leading up to bootcamp! God took those fears and lies! He did a work!
I made friends that I am beyond thankful for! I have 40 new brothers and sisters! We pray for each other! We build each other up! We laugh with each other! We cry with each other! I couldn’t of asked/ prayed for a better group to get to do Gods work with! I am nervous still to go on gap-year, but I know that God will continue to show up and that he is with me every step of the way! I am also really excited to go! I am excited because I will not be going to do this on my own strength! I will The airport was not as scary or intimidating as I thought!
Boot camp was really good, but hard all at the same time! It was hard because a lot of reality’s set in for me. If I am being honest I missed my friends and family. (It was only 5 days lol) There were a few times I wanted to go home. There were times that I didn’t feel qualified. There were times I realized that I was going to have to leave people behind. Like I said in my last blog post though I am not good enough! I am not able to do this on my own!! The God of the universe, our creator shows up every time we are questioning! We serve a God who shows up for us!!
We are not able to do things on our own. The Lord our God is where our strength comes from! Ephesians 3:16-17 says “16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” These verses taught me a lot!! The first thing that I learned was that no matter how many times I need the Lord to give me strength when I don’t feel that I have any he will/ can provide because he has unlimited resources!! His strength will never run out! The second thing I learned is that when we trust in him our roots run deeper into him. When we trust him we gain strength because that draws us closer to him! When something that God is calling us to seems bigger than we can handle that is because it is bigger than we can handle on our own! We serve a God who wants to pour out his unlimited resources onto us! He wants to give us strength s we walk alongside him through whatever he has called us! When we are weak he gives us strength! It is in our weakness that his strength shines through! (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) When we are weak he is strong! His strength is better than what ours could ever be!!This is something I am learning! It is so cool that we have a God who is worthy of our trust!
