Hi Guys πŸ™‚

I am excited to share this experience with you all! The process of getting accepted to The World Race Gap Year till right now right before we all leave for bootcamp has been way different than I expected it to be!

It has been so good to get to know some of the other racers and to have a bunch of other people on your side who are also going to participate in the race. If I am being completely honest it has also been hard. What God calls us into isn’t always going to be easy, but he is always right there with us!! Always!!

Some reality’s have set in for me like the fact of how long 9-months is. Which is how long I will be on mission. This experience has come with a lot of worry and stress. Will I raise enough money to go? How will my family be without me here for 9-months? will I loose friendships and relationships in general. Worry if I am good enough. Worry if I am capable to live in another country for 9-months. The conclusion I have come to is that I am not. I am not qualified and I am not capable but the God who lives inside of me is!! He is capable!! Guys that is a huge deal! We serve a God who doesn’t call the qualified but qualifies the called!! We serve a God who makes us capable of doing exactly what he calls us to do.

Now don’t hear what I am not saying! We can do nothing on our own! We need Jesus every second of every day!! What I mean is that what God is calling you to do may seem crazy and like something you can’t handle. The reality is that it probably is something you can’t handle on your own! We have to lean on him! The world will tell you oh you got this, or your perfect for this position! Reality is those characteristic that you have that make you “qualified” are God given. He created you! I am speaking to myself her as well! I am going to be honest. I am scared to go on the world race gap year. I also know though that the God of the universe is coming with me. He has called me to do this and he will not leave me to do it on my own! He won’t leave you either! Whatever he has truly called you to do go for it with all the strength that he has given you!

Thank you guys for taking the time to read this! Thank you for partnering with me in prayer or financially! I love each of you so much! Excited to continue to share with you what God is going to do in and through me in this next season. Would love to hear from you guys in the comments!!

  1. This is so great maja!! So sweet to hear your heart in choosing to go on the Race! You’re right, it’s such a gift that God is with us every second and that He accepts all of our fears and worries with open arms!! Great blog!!!

  2. Such wise words Maja. I love you so much and I’m praying for you. When Jesus commissioned Paul to the Gentiles, he said to do what only God can do. These are the words of Jesus to Paul:
β€œI am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. β€œ(Acts 26:17–18)
There is no salvation anywhere in the world without hearing the news of what God has done in Jesus Christ. The task of making that news heard among those who have little or no access to it is the task of world missions. God will fully equip you. And oh, how I pray that Romans 10:14–17 will take hold of all of us! Love you so much and I’ll be praying ??

  3. Love you so so much Angie!! Thank you for the prayers!! I am so thankful to have you in my life!! Thank you for being someone worth imitating!! Thank you for the scriptures you shared!! Love you Angie!! πŸ™‚

  4. This was so cool to read. It is amazing how you want to follow God into what He has called you too no matter what trust Him in the midst of the stress!
