Long time no blog!! I’m sorry guys!! I know I have been really bad at updating all of you guys. I want to change that whether it is here on my blog or on my instagram/ Facebook. I left Gainesville Georgia on November 5th 2021, and headed to Guatemala. Guatemala was a time full of the Lord, and kids. Guatemala is for a blog another time. I want to tell you guys about South Africa which is where I am at currently. I got to Jeffreys Bay South Africa on January 16th.

My squad and I spent the first few days getting adjusted/ getting our jet- lag under control. During those first few days we also found out what each individual teams ministry would be/ look like. My teams ministry is at a pre-school. This pre-school is around a 10 to 15 minute drive from where we are staying. The Pre-school has 8 classrooms total. It has 3 six year old classes, 3 four to five year old classes, and 2 three year old classrooms. Getting to be at this pre- school Monday- Friday has been an absolute blessing. These kids love for each other, their teachers and school is like none I’ve ever seen before. The teachers at this school are the biggest blessing getting to love and encourage them has been so amazing!! I have also gotten to be loved and encouraged by these teachers every single day!!

Each member of my team takes a classroom each day. Getting to help in the classroom looks like writing kids names on their papers, helping them write letter/ numbers, holding them as they sleep, talking with the teacher and students, and going to the convenient store up the street with my team during recess to get a coke. Overall ministry has been absolutely amazing. I have gotten to see the Lord move in so many ways and have gotten to see him in knew ways!!

I now want to tell you about what is next and why. The plan for my squad was to go too. Guatemala, South Africa, And Romania since we left the states. Well that isn’t quite the plan anymore. With everything going on in Ukraine and Russia right now leadership thought it would be best to give us each a choice. They have given us the choice to either go to Romania, or Ecuador.

I was so frustrated at first. I didn’t want to have to make a decision. I didn’t want the people who I have lived with, and gone through some of the hardest/ best times with for the past 6 months to be across the world from me. I wanted to go to Romania with my whole heart. Growing up with European grandparents who immigrated from Macedonia made me have a huge desire to go to Europe. I have wanted to go to Europe my entire life. As I sat with the Lord and asked him what to do/ shared my frustrations with him. He told me not yet. Which hurt my heart. The Lord gave me a lot of peace about Ecuador and no peace about Romania. He told me Europe wasn’t for this season. I am trusting him in that.

With all that being said I am beyond excited for the next three weeks here in SA and all the Lord has. I am also beyond excited for what the Lord has been and is going to do Ecuador.

I would love to answer any questions you guys have and will leave ways down below for you all to reach out. Questions about ministry. about Ecuador and the decision process, about Guatemala, about the Race in general, logistical questions, anything! I love you all!! I will update again soon!

One response to “Where I’m Going, and What I’m Doing”

  1. This journey has been crazy, but seeing you press in and bringing the Word is awesome to see. You have a gift in bringing out themes and life giving reflections not easily seen in scripture. Keep that up, it brings deeper revelation and understanding.
